Smap Bistro SXS 9/3 and 9/10/2005

I just finished watching SXS from 9/3 and 9/10 respectively. The 9/3 show was really good. Shingo and Tsuyo paired up well Takuya and Goro paired up. Shingo made this dessert that was in the shape of a pyramid. The outside was thin milk chocolate and the inside was ice cream and fresh fruit. It was beautiful. Tsuyo made some kind of steak with mushrooms. Then they did the Terotearena skit. To give you an idea of what that is, during the 2005 Love Awards show, Nakai made up words to a song that Shingo sings in one of his skits. Shingo then drew a salamander and named it Terotearena. He teased Nakai the rest of the night. Well because of this, Nakai won the award! It was really funny. So they made it into this long skit. They had Nakai dressed in the monster suit and made a short film. Super duper funny stuff! The last song of was Dawn. I really love this song but I don't listen to it often because it makes me sad and long to see them in person.

The 9/10 show was pretty normal. Shingo and Goro paired up and Takuya and Tsuyo paired up. Shingo made dessert with a clear-candy bubble that look like glass but he then broke over the dessert. I could really tell what it was but it was crispy. Goro made some kind of creamy soup with cavier and other fish stuff (he he). I didn't like the way that looked but it must have been good because they won. Then they talked about NASA. A few years ago, the guest was a Japanese astronaut. He really like the dish they served which was curry meat with rice and veggies and rice rolled in spinach. Well, on the last flight back in May or June 2005, NASA served this meal in space! Shingo and Goro was in Houston, Texas in April. (Such a crime, I didn't know or I would have went to Houston DAH) Not on did they eat Smap's food, they also played one of their most famous songs, Sekai Ni Hitotsu Dake No Hana (The One and Only Flower in the World)! It's a beautiful song. Shingo and Goro were in some bar and they told the owner they were Japans #1 chefs so she would hand their pictures on the wall and SHE DID! Anyway it was a good show. The last song was Sekai Ne Hitotsu Dake No Hana with a country sound to it.

Sample Bang Concert ends 9/29/2005

Ok, the last concert ends tomorrow. I kinda glad because I didn't get to go and have been blue about that. I've been hearing all kinds of wonderful stuff about the concerts and how every concert is different. They have a MC part where they just talk about their life events. The concerts have been lasting from 3 1/2 to 4 hours! They do comic skits and well as of course songs. I was able to get some concert stuff via friends from the Channel Smap board. I've got a cap, concert program and unofficial concert photos! The concert dvds are to be released on December 7, 2005 and can be purchased on Yesasia.com for about $85. The problem is the releases from Japan our region 2 and cannot be played on american dvd player (region 1). We will have to wait for the vcds or China to release. I have every intention on buying these for a Christmas present to me which is something I do every year!

Smap Stuff - CLAP YOUR HANDS!

Today I'm on vacation and have just finished the members info. I'd didn't write everything I know about them but wanted to put the basics. As I type this, I decided to name this after post after the song I'm listening to which is "Clap your hands from the Sample Bang cd. This is a really fun cd. I learning the words because for one, I love to sing but not only that, it helps me to speak the language. Try singing in Japanese! ahahahahaha, its a challenge to say the least.

I know some of you are wondering how I can listen to songs that I don't understand. I also listen to opera and I don't understand that either. I feel the music. It's that simple. I only know what it means to me and I can enjoy it on that level. I didn't get to go to the concerts this year. I was really sadden by that but after hurricane Katrina, I have a better perspective on life and have stopped being so bummed.

Let's see.....I will from time to time post stuff in Japanese. Moshi mo wakarimasen, kikete kudasai. Watashi wa machigaeri, tadasete kudasai. Dewa mata!

Kusanagi Tsuyoshi

Tsuyoshi Kusanagi was born on July 9, 1974 in Shikoku, Japan but lived his life in Saitama since he was 2 years old. Tsuyo is about 5'6" tall, very thin but most agile. He does flips, handstands, etc. Tsuyo is soft-spoken and has a calm personality. He is definitely the strong silent type. Tsuyo is not the best singer or dancer but he fits perfectly in Smap. I can't imagine the group without Tsuyo because he brings a serenity in the mist of the activity. He also is an actor but like Nakai I haven't seen him in any sitcoms or movies yet. From what I've seen in his skits on Bistro Smap, he loves costumes and makeup! Tsuyo did a skit with a goat face which was amazing! He also has a weekly show named PuSma which is challenge show. He's the one that the other members gang up on but he takes it all in stride. This is not to say they abuse him, but he really doesn't have a breaking point so they will go to the extreme with him. I believe that Tsuyo is the glue that keeps them together but they don't know it. He speaks Korean fluently and did sing a solo in that language. Tsuyo was recently called a workaholic by Takuya but he meant it as a compliment. Tsuyo has a great sense of responsibility and commitment. It really shows in everything he does!

Nakai Masahiro

Masahiro Nakai was born August 18, 1972 in Fujisawa, Japan. He is oldest of the group thus the leader. Masahiro is commonly known as Nakai. Standing at about 5'5" tall (the shortest) and he is the man behind Smap. Nakai makes most of the decisions about Smap thus he has a great responsibility. Nakai is FUNNY and sweet. He is the one who puts the members on the frontlines asking them all kinds of questions. Nothing is off limits for Nakai! AHAHAHAHAH! Nakai is a hard worker and it really shows, however he can't sing. I really love that he tries so hard but can't carry a tune on his back if he had to! Nakai can dance though being the best dancer in the group. His moves are precise and smooth. He really works hard to perfect what he's doing. Nakai is also an actor but I haven't seen his work yet so I really don't have a good opinion of his ability. I do know this, Nakai works overtime so I will assume he really puts his all into acting just as he does everything. He has a radio show also and other weekly shows besides those he does with the group (Bistro Smap) . He has the greatest TV exposure. Nakai-kun is the BEST!
